I am trying to print from Excel, but the printed output does not match the original!

The output I am getting now duplicates what I had just previously printed from another Excel file.

Answer

Try clearing the print area or re-setting the print area. Follow these steps:

Clearing a print area

Note   If your worksheet contains multiple print areas, clearing a print area removes all the print areas on your worksheet.

  1. Click anywhere on the worksheet for which you want to clear the print area.
  2. On the Page Layout tab, in the Page Setup group, click Clear Print Area.

Setting a print area

  1. On the worksheet, select the cells that you want to define as the print area. You can create multiple print areas by holding down CTRL and clicking the areas that you want to print.
  2. On the Page Layout tab, in the Page Setup group, click Print Area, and then click Set Print Area.

Note   The print area that you set is saved when you save the workbook.
